Slicing Okra
I was slicing Okra for a little Jambalaya we were cooking last night, when I cut the shit out of my thumb. Yeap, I put Okra in everything, if it’s fresh. Anyway, I was bleeding like a “stuck pig”. I think it was a two or three stitcher.
My beautiful wife, who runs the Trauma center in the Brier Patch, turned on the lights and siren, and broke for the medical locker…bad news, we only had 3 small band-aids, but we had some liquid band-aid. That shit is amazing…Star Trek amazing!
She gopped a big ass wad on my thumb, and presto…sealed. I slept well.
28 hours later:
Yeah, well maybe, maybe not. Now, I’m put together with some gauze and electrical tape…but it works. I think…I hope.
You gotta love technology. Liquid whatever.

Friends
Key, while y’all were drinking “Burns Blue Beads Clear”, this is me and my good friend the Silk Glider, whom I’ve known since I was five years of age. I’m on the right, or left, depending on where you’re standing. Same holds true for him. We’ve had many years of memories, some good, and some bad, and I’ve got to say, ”there ain’t nothing like friends.”
I think we had a good time.

Same Coin – Two Sides
What does bin Laden really hope to accomplish by releasing this last tape?
Does he hope to sway the election for Kerry, which will no doubt make it easier for these IslamoFascist scum to carry out attacks against Americans? He knows that if Kerry is elected, the U.S. will jump into bed with the E.U., and the E.U. will eventually cut deals with Radical Islam.
Or,
Does he hope to sway the election for Bush, who he views as the greatest Satan of all? To maintain the level of extreme hate, which feeds and supports his despicable mob, and for recruiting purposes, he needs a Bush win. He can’t afford any “softening up” on America.
I really don’t know, but I do know, in my opinion; if Kerry is elected, America will be less secure. Also, Kerry will pull out of Iraq, and that will be a “win” for radical Islam.
This is not really related, but it is an interesting read.

CNN International
I stopped watching CNN a long time ago, but maybe I should check in occasionally to put things in perspective. The Kommentariat, who is stationed overseas, has some issues.
I agree 100%. Arafat is not a "statesman", He IS A TERRORIST, and should be killed. I still don't understand why Israel didn't take care of that a long time ago.

He's Back
It appears ...... I...... was...... wrong. Apparently, Pure Evil has crawled out from under a slimy rock, and is making an attempt to sway our election. I think hope it will backfire.
Does anyone really believe that Kerry can do a better job with the war on terror, or kill Bin Laden, when almost 75% (probably higher) of the military don't want to work for him. Kerry is an arrogant asshole.
This is not about the elections. This is about the future of our way of life. This is about freedom and liberty and justice. This is about the future.
We have a choice.

On The Outside Looking In
I have several new friends (more than acquaintances) who have known each other for a long time. Some are to the left, and some are to the right. The upcoming election is, in my opinion, driving them crazy. Radical Crazy. I do not believe they’ll be able to salvage their friendships, and this is not good. I have never seen this country so divided.
Over the years I’ve learned the difference between “rolling over” and “backing off”. I would never “roll over”, but I think it’s time (for them) to “back off”. I would never compromise my beliefs for anyone, ever; but I also understand the importance of friendship.
Sometimes you just have to back off, cool off, and re-group. Sometimes you just have to make a decision for the future. Sometimes you have to agree to disagree, and be done with it.
The only other option, is not worth it.

I think so. I've believed that since Tora Bora. That piece of shit could not stay away from the camera for this long.
So does this guy. He makes his case and illustrates the character of George Bush while doing so. There just might be some things more important than being reelected. Anyway, it’s an interesting read.

A Nuclear Reality Check
John Kerry's Nuke Plan
October 5, 2004
Justin Darr, Truth News
Gone are the days when nuclear weapons capability was controlled by a few, if not friendly, at least relatively sane nations. After 60 years, advances in technology have made it possible for rogue states with the inclination and resources to release the nuclear genie. The major question facing the United States today is quite simple; what are we going to do about it? Lacking the prescience to see the future, American voters have a choice between two men with diametrically opposed views on how this issue should be addressed. And, despite the spin of the candidates' respective campaigns, they are basing their choices on little more than faith. Faith that their respective candidate better understands the nature, goals, predispositions, and methods of dealing with the issues these states seeking nuclear weapons raises. The problem is that while John Kerry is sincere in beliefs, his world view is not based on the reality of the character of the rogue nations he must face as President....
In regard to North Korea, Kerry feels that it is best to pretend that Kim Jong-il has not just violated an international treaty with the United States and developed nuclear weapons. Kerry may want to blame this development on the Bush Administration, but it takes far more than the year Bush was in office to develop a nuclear weapons program. No, in order to develop the WMD they now hold, North Korea would have had to systematically violate the treaty almost from the day it was signed by the Clinton Administration in 1994. The rigorous system of oversight and inspections stipulated by the treaty were easily side stepped by the North Koreans and now two of our closest allies, South Korea and Japan, have a psychopathic despot pointing nuclear weapons at their major cities. John Kerry's solution to this major crisis is to give into the demands of the North Koreans, pretend the last 10 years did not happen, and hold bilateral talks with North Korea, effectively ostracizing the nations most directly effected their nuclear threat.
What do you suppose the character of these negotiations would be? It is pretty simple, North Korea will want its oil, food, medicine, and humanitarian aid back that was cut off by Bush with the violation of the old treaty with a new caveat where the United States would accept and forgive their development of atomic weapons. What would we get? Nothing but promises from a regime that has proven itself unable to abide by an international treaty. John Kerry may claim that the guarantee of North Korea dismantling its WMD is worth the price of abandoning our values and risking millions of lives, but what does Senator Kerry plan to do if North Korea violates this treaty just like they ignored the last? Set up another round of negotiations begging them to just tell us how much we have to give them live up to their word?
John Kerry has a similar plan in regard to Iran's nuclear weapons program. Oh, I am sorry, peaceful nuclear power program. First, Iran needs nuclear power about as much as Bill Gates needs food stamps. The entire country is floating on an ocean of oil! Iran's history does not need retelling. Since 1979, Iran has been the single greatest promoter and exporter of terrorism and civil unrest in the world. A nuclear Iran, in any capacity, is an unacceptable risk. Rather than working to stop the threat, Kerry will give up all opposition to Iran having nuclear capabilities and actually supply them with the enriched uranium fuel they need in exchange for international inspections. Kerry's reasoning goes that if the Iranians refuse such a good deal, they must be up to no good. The United States can then go to the United Nations and begin the process to impose stiff economic sanctions.
Kerry's plan is flawed in two respects. First, Kerry assumes that Iran will refuse the deal if they actually want to develop nuclear weapons. But what if Iran decides to agree to the deal, receives the fuel, and then embarks on a concerted program to either deceive or stall the inspectors in order to accelerate their WMD development? North Korea is far less capable a nation than Iran and they seemed to have no problem avoiding international oversight, so what is stopping the Iranians? Their good word and history of peaceful temperance?
Second, Kerry assumes that our allies and the United Nations would enact touch economic sanctions on the Iranians. This might sound reasonable until you realize that the Iranian nuclear power plants are being built by the Russians with help from the Germans and other companies from EU nations. There is no way the Russians and our European "allies" will take anything other than symbolic action against Iran when they have billions of Euros at stake. More than likely, they will repeat their actions with the Iraqi Oil for Food Program and the failed Iraqi sanctions, doing a lot of sanctimonious moralizing while profiting from their duplicity on the side.
If John Kerry is elected President, in four years we will have a nuclear Iran and North Korea attempting to spread WMD to other nations around the world and terrorist groups. North Korea will sell anything to anyone so long as their money is green and American. Iran will give anything to a terrorist group so long as it can kill lots of Jews. Rather than addressing this threat, Kerry has decided to bury his head in the sand and pretend that he is not dealing with the Axis of Evil, but misunderstood problem states who only need a little understanding to become good global citizens. This November, Americans will be voting on faith that their candidate is the most competent for office. But if we vote for John Kerry, by the time the next election rolls around, we may be needing our faith to see us through the nuclear nightmare a Kerry Administration could create.

My puppy and I have been going on daily patrols for some time now. Even before he was a puppy (born), I noticed this. Immediately following 9/11, everyone was flying an American flag. Now, it seems that, 90% of the people have taken them down. Why is that?

John Kerry Has No Respect
Below is a photograph of the cover of John Kerry's book. Notice, our flag is being flown upside down. John Kerry was, and is, a traitor.
Flying the flag upside down is a standard military distress signal and was never intended to be disrepectful.
JOHN KERRY'S INTENTION WAS TO BE DISREPECTFUL!!!
The United States Flag Code formalizes and unifies the traditional ways in which we give respect to the flag and includes the following:
# The flag should never be dipped to any person or thing. It is flown upside down only as a distress signal.
# The flag should not be used as a drapery, or for covering a speakers desk, draping a platform, or for any decoration in general. Bunting of blue, white and red stripes is available for these purposes. The blue stripe of the bunting should be on the top.
# The flag should never be used for any advertising purpose. It should not be embroidered, printed or otherwise impressed on such articles as cushions, handkerchiefs, napkins, boxes, or anything intended to be discarded after temporary use. Advertising signs should not be attached to the staff or halyard.
# The flag should not be used as part of a costume or athletic uniform, except that a flag patch may be used on the uniform of military personnel, fireman, policeman and members of patriotic organizations.
# The flag should never have placed on it, or attached to it, any mark, insignia, letter, word, number, figure, or drawing of any kind.
# The flag should never be used as a receptacle for receiving, holding, carrying, or delivering anything.
I am baffled why anyone would vote to put him in charge of his or her future.
Every time I see his lying ass on television; I just want to reach in and smack the shit out of him.
I hope the polls are wrong. If Bush dosen't win by "almost" a landslide...it's going to the courts...

...John Kerry is "BAD JUJU".

Terror Is A Tactic
In a nutshell, this is exactly what Hanoi John and his mob do not understand, or refuse to believe. Wishful thinking will not work.
"This is not simply a fight against terror - terror is a tactic. This is not simply a fight against Al Qaeda, it's affiliates and adherents - they are foot soldiers. This is not simply a fight to bring democracy to the Middle East - that is an objective. This is a fight for the very ideas at the foundation of our society, the way of life those ideas enable, and the freedoms we enjoy."

Tuba Fats R.I.P.
Better late than never.
Anthony "Tuba Fats" Lacen was born 09/15/50 and died 01/11/04.

I have fond memories of him. Let me explain.
My wife has the voice of an angel; she was trained in Opera, but she can get down with traditional New Orleans jazz and blues.
We discovered Tuba Fats and his pick up band in Jackson Square, the largest free music venue the French Quarter has to offer, and I asked him if she could do a couple of tunes with ‘em. She sat next to him on a park bench, and they broke into “Saint James Infirmary”…and she brought the house down, so to speak…standing ovation. The next day, when we returned, he introduced her to the crowd as his “secret weapon”. We had a good time.
Nawlins has got it going on. No need to rent a car…just fly in and take a taxi to the French Quarter, and experience some of the best food, drink, and music on the planet. It is impossible to have a bad time in Nawlins. Impossible.

Walking Stretch
This afternoon I took my puppy for a long walk. A week ago tomorrow, I had him de-nutted, and I feel bad about it. He is such a unique color, I probably should have passed his genes along, but I hope he’s too young to know the difference.
He seems to be healing up just fine, considering I took all his pain pills due to my “right side rib problem” I posted about before; but he needed some exercise.
Anyway, a dog 10 times his size (with some dizzy bitch owner) approaches and she doesn’t have her mutt dog choked down. The dog lunges and snaps at my puppy, and I kicked the shit out of it. I kicked that fucker with all the force I would use for an 80-yard field goal.
She was pissed, and so was her dog.
Stretch, and me, well, we bonded.

The Joy Of Your Conscience
Why this Jewish American is voting for George W. Bush
By Naomi Ragen
As you know, I'm going off on my book tour to talk about The Covenant, a novel that tells the truth about Palestinian terrorism, and the ordinary Israelis who have been fighting on the front lines for years. By the time I come back, the election for President of the United States will be over and done, and we won't have this bone of contention to deal with, you and I. This is my last word on this topic.
But before I go, I'd like to tell you how it makes me feel when people on my list write me that I should butt out of the U.S. election because I live in Israel. People who write me that George W. Bush is an idiot because he doesn't care about the environment or healthcare, or abortions. That he lied about WMD, and shouldn't have gone into Iraq or Afghanistan. That it's his fault the war on terror is going badly. That they are proudly going to vote for his opponent, John Kerry, and give me a long list of reasons why.
It makes me sickeningly angry and depressed. And this is why:
I remember seeing my mother -in- law, who survived Auschwitz, and my father-in -law, whose first young wife and two babies were gassed there, wearing gas masks and sitting in a sealed room with their children and great-grandchildren, because Saddam Hussein was logging bombs at us and we were afraid he'd gas us as he did thousands of Kurds, his own people.
I remember watching the families of suicide bombers who killed hundreds of Israelis in the streets of Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, and Netanya getting checks for $25,000 from Saddam Hussein.
I remember my daughter going to get gas masks for my grandchildren in the recent war because we were afraid Saddam Hussein would do it again.
I remember Arafat and Rabin on the lawn of the White House with President Clinton smiling, forcing them to shake hands. I remember the dozens of times Arafat came to the White House and was welcomed like a world leader. I remember Clinton's silence when the Intifada started, and how I felt when he wouldn't come out and condemn the Palestinians for breaking the agreements; when he suddenly backed off, talking about how both sides in the conflict were responsible.
I remember Clinton at the Democractic Convention, shaking hands with Kerry.
I remember Jimmy Carter and his numerous attempts to harm Israel during the Intifada, trying to tie it's leaders hands at defending us, shaking hands with Kerry.
I remember how finally, after September 11, we had a President in the White House that let us go after terrorists at home. A President that despite the lack of support of Israel's enemies: the U.N., France, Germany, and the rest of the EU who had been kissing Arafat's backside for years while he killed our children, decided to take out Saddam Hussein, and who did it, brilliantly in a few weeks, despite all the media naysayers and back biters.
Thank you George W. Bush. For getting Saddam Hussein off Israel's back so my children and my in-laws can put away their gas masks for good. Thank you George W. Bush, for passing the Patriot Act, which outlaws terrorist funding, and for going after the bankers who fund the murder of our children.
Thank you George W. Bush, for understanding there is an Axis of Evil, and for putting Syria and Iran on it.
Thank you, George W. Bush, for saving millions of women and girls from a fate worse than death by getting rid of the Taliban, so they can go to a doctor, go to school, and not be stoned publicly for not walking around like little tents.
For all those of you who haven't made up their minds. I hope this will help you.
As for those who sincerely believe they love Israel but are voting for John Kerry, I'd like to say this:
You are voting for a who wants to bring the US closer to France whose Ambassador to England called Israel " that s****y little country "; whose former Prime Minister called the establishment of Israel a "historic mistake" ; who has seen the most anti-Semitism of any European nation since World War Two;who willingly supplied Hussein not just with weapons but also with the nuclear reactor that Israel destroyed in 1981; and who continues to supply nuclear technology to Iran whose desire for nuclear weapons to destroy Israel is well known. A man who wants closer ties with the EU, who continues to supply funds being used by the Palestinians to commit terror attacks. A man who wants approval from the UN, whose ambulances ferry terrorists in Gaza to plant bombs to kill Israeli soldiers.
You are voting for a man who told the Arab-American Institute last year "how disheartened Palestinians are by the Israeli government's decision to build a barrier off the Green Line, cutting deeply into Palestinian areas" and went on to say that "We do not need another barrier to peace... and that provocative and counterproductive measures only harm Israel's security over the long term." A fence which has reduced terror attacks to almost nothing in it's areas,
saving thousands of Israeli lives.
A man who denounced the 'endless cycle of violence and reprisals" thereby equating Israel's defensive measures to root out killers to the murder of innocent Israelis by Palestinian terrorists; a man whose much touted "solid Senatorial record on votes for Israel" amounts to painless offers of moral support written and introduced by others. A man who in 2000 didn't join 60 co-sponsors of the "Middle East Peace Process Support Act" - a bill calling on the President not to recognize a unilaterally declared Palestinian state; a man who failed to co-sponsor a pro-Israel "Peace Through Negotiations Act." Who in
1993 failed to join 55 Senators in signing the Grassley/Lautenberg letter to the State Department, demanding that Hamas be listed as a terrorist organization. Who did not support the assassination of Sheikh Yassin. A man who surrounds himself with Mideast "experts" like Sandy Berger, who said in May 2000 that Palestinian violence was " a blessing " because it might speed up the egotiating process; Martin Indyk an ex-Ambassador to Israel who recently told Israel to unilaterally give up the strategically vital Golan Heights to Syria
because it was the only way to get rid of Hezbollah violence, who is widely known as Arafat's Yes-Man .
You are voting for a slick, multi-millionaire dilettante, who in twenty years in the Senate only managed to author, or co-author the following bills. (See http://www.factcheck.org/article282.html for all bills and the details )
S.1206: Names a federal building in Waltham, Massachusetts after Frederick C. Murphy, who was killed in action during World War II and awarded (posthumously) the Medal of Honor. (1994) a..
S.1636: A save-the-dolphins measure aiming "to improve the program to Reduce the incidental taking of marine mammals during the course of commercial fishing operations." (1994)
S.1563: Funding the National Sea Grant College Program, which supports university-based research, public education, and other projects "to promote better understanding, conservation and use of America's coastal resources." (1991)
S.423: Granting a visa and admission to the U.S. as a permanent resident to Kil Joon Yu Callahan. (1987)
H.R.1900 (S.300) Awarded a congressional gold medal to Jackie Robinson (posthumously), and called for a national day of recognition. (2003)
H.R.1860(S.856): Increased the maximum research grants for small
businesses from $500,000 to $750,000 under the Small Business Technology Transfer Program. (2001)
S.J.Res.158: To make the week of Oct. 22 Oct. 28, 1989 "World Population Awareness Week." (1989)
S.J.Res.160: To renew "World Population Awareness Week" for 1991. (1991)
S.J.Res.318: To make Nov. 13, 1992 "Vietnam Veterans Memorial 10th
Anniversary Day." (1992)
S.J.Res.337: To make Sept. 18, 1992"National POW/MIA Recognition Day."
(1992)
S.Res.123: To change the name of the Committee on Small Business to the
"Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship." (2001)
S.Res.133: To make May 21, 1991 "National Land Trust Appreciation Day."
(1991)
S.Res.144: To encourage the European Community to vote to ban driftnets for all European Community fishing fleets. (1991 )
S.Res.216: Honoring Milton D. Stewart for his leadership and service at the Small Business Administration. (2002)
S.Con.Res.26: Calling for the United States to support a new agreement providing for a ban on commercial mining of minerals in Antarctica. (1991)
For all those of you who decide that you prefer this man to one who (in the words of one list-member) "took out Saddam Hussein, stepped on Arafat's neck, backed Israel's war on the terrorists, and gave the EU and UN Palestinian apologists the mighty finger" what can I say?
I wish you the joy of your conscience come voting day.
I'd also like to say this: If George W. Bush is elected (please God), do I expect him to do things I won't like? Do I expect him to pressure Israel into doing things I don't approve of? You bet I do, I'm not naive. But given my choice, I also expect to be around at the end of the next four years to vote again. With Kerry, I'm not so sure.

Sent to me by my good friend Linda.
MATTHEW MANWELLER'S COMMENTARY ON THIS ELECTION
Read More »
The commentary is from Matthew Manweller, a political science professor at Central Washington University. Here is the text of that commentary:
"In that this will be my last column before the presidential election, there will be no sarcasm, no attempts at witty repartee. The topic is too serious, and the stakes are too high.
This November we will vote in the only election during our lifetime that will truly matter. Because America is at a once-in-a-generation crossroads, more than an election hangs in the balance. Down one path lies retreat, abdication and a reign of ambivalence. Down the other lies a nation that is aware of its past and accepts the daunting obligation its future demands. If we choose poorly, the consequences will echo through the next 50 years of history. If we, in a spasm of frustration, turn out the current occupant of the White House, the message to the world and ourselves will be two-fold.
First, we will reject the notion that America can do big things. Once a nation that tamed a frontier, stood down the Nazis and stood upon the moon, we will announce to the world that bringing democracy to the Middle East is too big a task for us. But more significantly, we will signal to future presidents that as voters, we are unwilling to tackle difficult challenges, preferring caution to boldness, embracing the mediocrity that has characterized other civilizations. The defeat of President Bush will send a chilling message to future presidents who may need to make difficult, yet unpopular decisions. America has always been a nation that rises to the demands of history regardless of the decisions. America has always been a nation that rises to the demands of history regardless of the costs or appeal. If we turn away from that legacy, we turn away from whom we are.
Second, we inform every terrorist organization on the globe that the lesson of Somalia was well learned. In Somalia, we showed terrorists that you don't need to defeat America on the battlefield when you can defeat them in the newsroom. They learned that a wounded America can become a defeated America. Twenty-four hour news stations and daily tracing polls will do the heavy lifting, turning a cut into a fatal blow. Except that Iraq is Somalia times 10. The election of John Kerry will serve notice to every terrorist in every cave that the soft underbelly of American power is the timidity of American voters. Terrorists will know that a steady stream of grizzly photos for CNN is all you need to break the will of the American people. Our own self-doubt will take it from there. Bin Laden will recognize that he can topple any American administration without setting foot on the homeland.
It is said that America's WWII generation is its "greatest generation." But my greatest fear is that it will become known as America's "last generation." Born in the bleakness of the Great Depression and hardened in the fire of WWII, they may be the last American generation that understands the meaning of duty, honor, and sacrifice. It is difficult to admit, but I know these terms are spoken with only hollow detachment by many (but not all) in my generation. Too many citizens today mistake "living in America" as "being an American." But America has always been more of an idea than a place. When you sign on, you do more than buy real estate. You accept a set of values and responsibilities. This November, my generation, which has been absent too long, must grasp that 100 years from now historians will look back at the election of 2004 and see it as the decisive election of our century. Depending on the outcome, they will describe it as the moment America joined the ranks of ordinary nations; or they will describe it as the moment the prodigal sons and daughters of the greatest generation accepted their burden as caretakers of the City on the Hill."

I Saw The Hole
I’m back…I think. It’s been a long time since I’ve been to a wedding and reception with 450 – 500 people. We had a great time…We think. I saw a bunch of old friends, and made some new ones…I think.
I almost died…I think. Got a piece of food stuck in my damn throat, and couldn’t breathe…started to get dizzy from lack of air, and some football player put the Heimlich maneuver on me. As a result of that, the food was dislodged enough for me to breathe and eject it, but my right-side ribs are trashed. Getting out of a car is a trick, and I have to roll out of bed. I guess it’s better than being dead.
I-40 from North Carolina to Tennessee, and back, is a beautiful drive, but, since the hurricanes dumped so much water in the mountains, we’ve got some major problems. There is one tunnel westbound, and two tunnels eastbound. Both directions are down to one lane, because of the Hole. Right before you pass through the first eastbound tunnel (uphill), the interstate disappears. I mean, it is gone; replaced by a hole with a diameter of about 500 yards, and a thousand feet deep. So, the NCDOT had to steal one of the westbound lanes…it took us about an hour and twenty minutes to go FIVE uphill miles. No shit. 1:20. This is going to take a while to fix, and I have no idea how they’ll do it…there’s nothing there to fix…so, if your heading west, add about twenty minutes because you’ll be going downhill, which is no problem for the trucks…BUT, if your heading the other way, add between one and two hours…those damn trucks just can’t stop and start going uphill. This has been a public service announcement.
My wife and I are tied. We both puked. Me, from choking, and her, well, she gets drunk about once every three or four years, and Saturday night was one of ‘em. She was red wine puking ass drunk. I guess it was all right the HOLE added about an hour and a half to our ride…she needed the sleep. Poor Baby.

The Brier Patch
This piddley ass blog will be one year old this Sunday, October 17. There are two reasons for putting this up now.
1. I’m heading across the Great Smokey Mountains in the morning for Nashville to attend a wedding. It certainly will be a beautiful drive, and it will definitely be one of those 72-hour (la-de-da) weddings. Dinner and Drinks And Lodging With My Beautiful Wife Somewhere Along The Way, Cocktails, Rehearsal Dinner, Moonshine & Cigars, Sleep Late, Pre-Wedding Jitter Busters, Long Ass Wedding with Communion, Reception with a World Class Band and old friends, No-Telling, Sunday Brunch. Damn, I’m already worn out. Miss Barbie and I are going to have a GOOD time.
2. I’m really going to miss the Blogtoberfest ,and the chance to shoot the shit with these folks:
My Internet Chic from Key Issues
Acidman from Gutrumbles
Adam the Single Southern Guy
Dax Montana from The Dax Files
Denny the Grouchy Old Cripple in Atlanta
Geoffrey & Gordon from Dog Snot Diaries
Jimbo from Parkway Rest Stop
Eric the Straight White Guy
Kelley from Suburban Blight
Momma from Mamamontezz
Velociman O'Velociworld
…and everyone else who goes to Helen, or has stopped by The Brier Patch. I truly appreciate it.
Y’all have a good time!!!
Now, my first post which is now...About Me.
Be back next week.

From the introduction of UNFIT FOR COMMAND
"I do not believe John Kerry is fit to be commander in chief of the armed forces of the United States. This is not a political issue. It is a matter of his judgment, truthfulness, reliability, loyalty, and trust--all absolute tenets of command."

Answering Machine Nonsense
ACTUAL ANSWERING MACHINE ANSWERS RECORDED AND VERIFIED BY THE WORLD FAMOUS INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTE OF ANSWERING MACHINE ANSWERS.
I vote for number 8. I've heard many stupid messages, but the refrigerator is a 1st.
1. My wife and I can't come to the phone right now, but if you'll leave your name and number, we'll get back to you as soon as we're finished.
2. A is for academics, B is for beer. One of those reasons is why we're not here. So, leave a message.
3. Hi. This is John: If you are the phone company, I already sent the money. If you are my parents, please send money. If you are my financial aid institution, you didn't lend me enough money. If you are my friends, you owe me money. If you are a female, don't worry, I have plenty of money.
4. Hi. Now YOU say something.
5. Hi, I'm not home right now, but my answering machine is, so you can talk to it instead. Wait for the beep.
6. Hello. I am David's answering machine. What are you?
7. Hello! If you leave a message, I'll call you soon. If you leave a "sexy" message, I'll call sooner!
8. Hi! John's answering machine is broken. This is his refrigerator. Please speak very slowly, and I'll stick your message to myself with one of these magnets.
9. Hello, you are talking to a machine. I am capable of receiving messages. My owners do not need siding, windows or a hot tub, and their carpets are clean. They give to charity through their office and do not need their picture taken. If you're still with me, leave your name and number and they will get back to you.
10. This is not an answering machine-this is a telepathic
thought-recording device. After the tone, think about your name, your number and your reason for calling, and I'll think about returning your call.
11. Hi. I'm probably home, I'm just avoiding someone I don't like. Leave me a message, and if I don't call back, it's you!!!!
12. Hi, this is George. I'm sorry I can't answer the phone right now. Leave a message and then wait by your phone until I call you back.
13. If you are a burglar, then we're probably at home cleaning our weapons right now and can't come to the phone. Otherwise, we probably aren't home and it's safe to leave a message.
14. Please leave a message. However, you have the right to remain silent. Everything you say will be recorded and will be used by us.

The Polls Are Voodoo
As of Today.
This is not good.
This is better.
How come I've never been polled? How do the pollsters select people to poll? Do they throw darts at a phone book? Do they throw darts at a list of registered Democrats?
I don't think it will be as close as the predictions, because I can't believe that Americans will be so stupid as to elect Kerry / Edwards. Maybe that's wishful thinking, but I think not. Although, I will admit, there are not many democratic supporters in my personal or professional circles, I could quite possibly be out of touch...but I think not...at least where I come from.
If people vote with the perceived outcome, of a few debates, by the biased left wing media, then we might be in deep shit. Everyone wants to support a winner.
However, I do believe the democrats in every state where the margin is less than 4%, maybe more, will contest the election. Looking at all the spin and back peddling, it's apparent that they want to win "at all costs". They have no integrity.
Yeap...this is going to get ugly.
Let me say one more thing...I don't "love" Bush, but I realize we only have two choices...I do not trust Kerry, period. His career was built on deception and lies.

I Like My Bait Prepared Left Handed
We once lived somewhere, I can't remember where, although I think it was Knoxville, but it really doesn't matter. They had good bait.
Wherever it was, it was when I discovered that Yoski was right...I like a Quail Egg in my Sake. He taught me the only way to appreciate sake, is to bust a Quail egg in it...the first glass shot, and slam it. He was so right.
Me, and "Soup Cooling Lips" would head out for some bait and sake, and, as usual, ended up at the friendly neighborhood Sushi Bar. It had that "ting ting atmosphere".
Yoski, the Sushi chef, and I became friends, probably because I knew the importance of his "tip jar", but friends nonetheless.
Anyway, he was good at what he did, he was proud of what he did; he had been trained to do it...and do it well. A very interesting guy. A very intense person...proud of his trade.
He was left-handed.
I've always appreciated a nice blade, and I've always known the Japanese produced some of the finest...but I never realized they took it all the way down to the bait knife.
That's right...they fold the steel for the blades of their Sushi knives with the same meticulousness and craftsmanship as a Katana. They even angle the edge to serve the end-users preference...Left or Right hand.
Now, he had a beautiful knife…but it would only serve a left-handed person…I held, and tried the angle…but it wouldn’t work for me…I’m right handed.
I think everyone needs to appreciate this.

After Dax, Acidman, and Key.

You are water. You're not really organic; you're
neither acidic nor basic, yet you're an acid
and a base at the same time. You're strong
willed and opinionated, but relaxed and ready
to flow. So while you often seem worthless,
without you, everything would just not work.
People should definitely drink more of you

Warning
The National Weather Service has issued a warning for yet another catastrophic hurricane following on the heels of Charley, Frances, Ivan and Jeanne. The path of this hurricane flips and flops, and is therefore highly unpredictable.
Experts predict that this one will cause the most damage to the United States that we have experienced in four years. They are naming this one Hurricane Kerry.
Be advised, the only way for citizens to protect themselves is by hiding behind a Bush.

56 Moves Later...
and the 2nd Queen Bitch is still dogging my ass. We swapped Queens at moves 4/5.
I have 3 Pawns and a Rook. He has 1 Bishop, and 1 Queen (Pawn convert). Both Kings have plenty of room.
The 2 major errors factors are: (late in the game)
1. He gave me a Rook
2. I allowed him to convert a Pawn
This will be interesting.
He will have no problem picking off my Pawns, but with only a Queen and a Black Bishop after me...I can live for a while. If I stay on white, only the Bitch matters.
I wonder how many more moves before I die.
Also...FYI...the Queen is only a Bitch, if I'm losing.

You Can't Break This
Hat Tip to many people.
The average age of the military man is 19 years. He is a short haired, tight-muscled kid who, under normal circumstances is considered by society as half man, half boy. Not yet dry behind the ears, not old enough to buy a beer, but old enough to die for his country. He never really cared much for work and he would rather wax his own car than wash his father's; but he has never collected unemployment either.

He's a recent High School graduate; he was probably an average student, pursued some form of sport activities, drives a ten year old jalopy, and has a steady girlfriend that either broke up with him when he left, or swears to be waiting when he returns from half a world away. He listens to rock and roll or hip-hop or rap or jazz or swing and 155mm howizzitor. He is 10 or 15 pounds lighter now than when he was at home because he is working or fighting from before dawn to well after dusk.
He has trouble spelling, thus letter writing is a pain for him, but he can field strip a rifle in 30 seconds and reassemble it in less time in the dark. He can
recite to you the nomenclature of a machine gun or grenade launcher and use either one effectively if he must. He digs foxholes and latrines and can apply first aid like a professional. He can march until he is told to stop or stop until he is told to march.

He obeys orders instantly and without hesitation, but he is not without spirit or individual dignity. He is self-sufficient. He has two sets of fatigues: he washes one and wears the other. He keeps his canteens full and his feet dry. He sometimes forgets to brush his teeth, but never to clean his rifle. He can cook his own meals, mend his own clothes, and fix his own hurts. If you're thirsty, he'll share his water with you; if you are hungry, his food. He'll even split his ammunition with you in the midst of battle when you run low.
He has learned to use his hands like weapons and weapons like they were his hands. He can save your life - or take it, because that is his job. He will often do twice the work of a civilian, draw half the pay and still find ironic humor in it all. He has seen more suffering and death then he should have in his short lifetime.

He has stood atop mountains of dead bodies, and helped to create them. He has wept in public and in private, for friends who have fallen in combat and is unashamed. He feels every note of the National Anthem vibrate through his body while at rigid attention, while tempering the burning desire to 'square-away' those around him who haven't bothered to stand, remove their hat, or even stop talking. In an odd twist, day in and day out, far from home, he defends their right to be disrespectful.
Just as did his Father, Grandfather, and Great-grandfather, he is paying the price for our freedom. Beardless or not, he is not a boy. He is the American Fighting Man that has kept this country free for over 200 years.

He has asked nothing in return, except our friendship and understanding. Remember him, always, for he has earned our respect and admiration with his blood. And now we even have woman over there in danger, doing their part in this tradition of going to War when our nation calls us to do so. As you go to bed tonight, remember this shot.. A short lull, a little shade and a picture of loved ones in their helmets.......

These Men and Women are dying to protect our freedom, and the future of our children...the future of America. Remember this on November 2nd.
If we elect Kerry / Edwards...we are in deep trouble, deep deep trouble!!!

Not Quite A Prediction
A lot of folks I know are worried that “Bush is done”, after the left wing press claimed Kerry won the debate. I think not…intelligent people realize that Kerry is adept at spinning lying in front of the public. Nothing has changed. Kerry did not put forth a plan for anything; he just tried to do his new can tan justice. I might be wrong, but I don’t think a couple of hours on prime time will sway the election…either way. I would like to believe that people aren’t that stupid.
Surely, people realize this election is about issues, and quite frankly, about the future of the “West” “World” as we know it…not about who can bullshit more effectively.
Some people have trouble making decisions, period. Many of the aforementioned people are not for Kerry, but against Bush. This is the true problem. Everyone must understand, we have two choices, and two choices only…think about it, and make the best decision for your family and friends. Think about the future. Honestly, that is all you can do.
I can tell you one thing…Hillary is pissed.

The Great White Hunter
I was living in Marietta at the time. I’d been hearing peculiar sounds (pitter patter click click) in the early morning hours, for weeks; I knew what was causing them. The traps weren’t working…
I had to do something…Radical…
My sister in law and her daughter were in town. A, the daughter, was sleeping on the couch in the living room.
3:00 am., I hear screaming…women screaming…my wife screaming.
I bolt from bed, throw some shorts on, and head for the noise,
My wife is standing on a chair…her sister is telling her daughter to stay put, and a huge ass mouse rat is frozen in the light, in the kitchen. Not moving.
The women are panicked…no, not panicked…I should say excited.
I tell her (the sister in law) to get my pellet gun…it’s behind the chest-of-drawers in my bedroom. She brings back the BB gun…I say NO, wrong gun…I need the other one…She says DAMN!, and fetches the right one.
Meanwhile, the mouse rat is still frozen…my wife is still on the chair, and her niece is still on the couch.
I insert a .177 pellet, pump it 8 times, and pop that fucker from about 17 feet…Didn’t kill him though…it was flopping like a fish out of water…blood spewing all over the place…my wife is screaming “shoot it again”….Now, do you know how hard it is to hit a mortally wounded flopping rat mouse, with a pellet gun? Pretty damn hard.
Anyway, my aim was true…and the second shot put it down for good.
It was a mess to clean up, though.
I’m now known, in a small circle, as the Great White Hunter!!!
