Divorce forces sale
I found my ex-wife's wedding dress in the attic when I moved. She took the $4000 engagement ring but left the dress. I was actually going to have a dress burning party when the divorce became final, but my sister talked me out of it. She said, "That’s such a gorgeous dress. Some lucky girl would be glad to have it. You should sell it on EBay. At least get something back for it." So, this is what I’m doing. I’m selling it hoping to get enough money for maybe a couple of Mariners tickets and some beer. This dress cost me $1200 that my drunken sot of an ex-father-in-law swore up and down he would pay for but didn’t so I got stuck with the bill. Luckily I only got stuck with his daughter for 5 years. Thank the Lord we didn't have kids. If they would have turned out like her or her family I would have slit my wrists. Anyway, it’s a really nice dress as you can see in the pictures. Personally, I think it looks like a $1200 shower curtain, but what do I know about this. We tried taking pictures of this lovely white garment but it didn’t look right on the hanger as you can see, so my sister says, "You need a model." Well, quite frankly my sister isn’t exactly small, (like a size 12 is?) so she wouldn’t pose for the picture. Seeing as I have sworn off women for the time being and I ain’t friends with any, it left me holding the bag. I took the liberty of blacking out my face - not to protect the ex-wife but to protect me from my bar buddies and co-workers finding out about it. I would never live it down. Actually I didn’t think my head would fit in the neck hole, but then I figured she got her Texas cheerleader hair through there I could get my head in it. Though, after looking at the pictures, I thought it made me look fat. How do you women wear this crap? I only had to walk 3 feet and I tripped twice. Don’t worry ladies - I am wearing clothes on underneath it. I gotta say it did make me feel very pretty. So if it can make me feel pretty, it can make you feel pretty, especially on the most important day of your life, right? Anyway, I was told to say it has a train and a veil and all kinds of shiny beady things. I think it's funny that one picture makes it look like the chest plate off an Imperial Storm Trooper. Did I mention that all I want is a ball game and beer? Cheap at twice the price. Ladies, you won’t regret this. You may regret the dude you marry but not the dress.
Just a little side note - As I was putting this ad in EBay, it asked me for a color. Is a wedding dress any other freaking color than white or ivory??!! If it is it wouldn't be a wedding dress, now would it?? I suppose black would work...
On Apr-26-04 at 10:38:31 PDT, seller added the following information:
Well, the auction is a little over half over and I am just amazed. This thing has taken more hits than that pothead that lives in the next building. Man, oh man, if hits were bucks I’d be getting a suite at Safeco.
I also have received TONS of email. I don’t have the time to reply to all of them but I just want to let everyone know that I appreciate the well wishes.
Of the email I received:
Five or so were invitations to ball games in other states. Two of those were for little league games. Do they have those cushy executive boxes with the free chicken wings at those?
One email was from Scotland. It’s a good thing he wrote it because I wouldn’t be able to understand a word he said. Never did get through Braveheart.
Most were thanking me for the laugh. You’re entirely welcome. Five years of misery was well worth the hearty guffaw that was my pleasure to give you.
Oh, yeah. I also got three marriage proposals. Yes, you read it right - three marriage proposals. I feel like one of those mass murderers on death row. I never understood how the hell they got more chicks than I did. Now I know. They sold crap on eBay.
On Apr-26-04 at 23:45:56 PDT, seller added the following information:
Holy Moly!
The hit counter is starting to look like the odometer in my truck! Not the new shiny black full-size 4-wheel-drive American pick-up that I had to part with, but the somewhat older, multicolored, lumpy, tiny, 2-wheel-drive foreign pick-up that belches smoke. A little something about that vehicle, though: it’s absolutely amazing! When I get inside it to go to the store, I am all depressed. But when I arrive at the store, I’m so freaking loopy from inhaling the fumes, I forget why I went there in the first place. I’m saving buckets of money. Of course, I will probably have to spend it all on the tuberculosis I will acquire, but hey, you can’t have everything.
I felt compelled to update this ad once more due to all of your emails. The first thing I have to say is thank you all for your support in my time of need. It was a truly harrowing experience. Some of you men know exactly what I mean.
Seeing as this has turned into my little public forum, I just want to address a few of the emails that kind of left me scratching my head.
I now have five marriage proposals. You would think my speaking of the ones I already got yesterday would have put a damper on it, but you women sure are persistent. One woman actually said she doesn’t want to marry me, but wouldn’t mind being my ex-wife. Hmmm. Let me think about that. Nope. No thanks, already got one. (Pssst. Didn’t I mention I had one? Who wants an ex-wife that can’t read? Now, I know what you guys are thinking - "If she can’t read, then the divorce would be smooth sailing." Well, that would be all well and good but I didn’t say her ATTORNEY couldn’t read. You following me on this?)
Other emails are serious buyers asking about the dress. "How long is the train?" and "Does the gown come with the headdress and veil?" Yes, headdress and veil are included, but the do-rag stays with me. And if the train was long enough for my ex’s caboose, it’s long enough for yours. You will have to supply your own baggage, though. I gave mine to Goodwill.
There was this one woman who wrote, "You should have covered your tattoos. People will be able to recognize you, like on America’s Most Wanted." HELLO!!! I’m a guy selling a dress. I’m not wanted for war crimes.
Some of your emails made me laugh. Like the bitter woman that wished she had her ex’s testicles to sell on eBay. I’m not too sure there’s a market for that, though. Then there was the guy that gave his wife’s wedding dress to the Salvation Army by mistake, thinking it was a Christmas tree. Guess he didn’t have any Christmas balls that year.
This has also been a learning experience for me. I got a lot of messages correcting me about the color of wedding dresses. For Russian Orthodox, they are blue. For Chinese they are red. Mexico has multi-colored ones. All I know is, for my next wedding I will be wearing a hairy, flesh-toned ensemble because I will be buck naked with a toe tag lying on a slab in the morgue because I would have killed myself.
A lot of folks were asking me if I wear women’s dresses a lot. I can honestly say that this is the first time I have ever donned female attire. It’s also the first time I’ve been inside something feminine that didn’t nag me to take out the garbage.
It seems a few people have taken offense to my inferring a size 12 is big. One male even pointed out that Marilyn Monroe was a size 14. Now, I would agree with you that size 12/14 is small if I lived elsewhere. But I live right here in the good old 48 Contiguous, where binging and purging is a way of life. American women do not want to be double digits in size. Just ask any woman what size they want to be. Invariably they will say five or seven. Wealthy will be the person that opens a store for Lane Bryant-sized women but sews size 7 tags on all the clothes.
On the flip side of that, I have taken offense to some of the people that told me I’m ugly and a loser. All I have to say is you’d be ugly too if you had a huge white blotch on your face. And as far as being a loser, I think you have it all wrong. I am such the winner. It isn’t every day an average guy can make 50,000 people laugh. Thanks to each and every one of you from the heart of my bottom.
Because of the high profile of this item, I am changing the listing to Pre-Approved Bidders Only. To be pre-approved, please contact me at horseplaypublishing@hotmail.com and include "Serious Bidder" in the subject line of the email and I will return your email to pre-approve your bidding on the auction. Thank you for your interest.
Woooooooohoooooo! What a wild ride! The emails are coming faster than the hits. And now personal appearances. First Star94 radio in Atlanta, then King5 in Seattle, now the Today Show with that I-used-to-be-a-fat-weatherman-but-now-I-am-as-skinny-as-Regis-but-twice-as-funny Al "I will turn this car around" Roker.
It is amazing; all this media hype. Hey, Al! Any relation to Roxy?
EBay has graciously allowed me to update this page once more. So I will keep it brief.

3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the sentence in your journal along with these instructions.
Result:
Thickly bearded Bessians and Dalmatians, Egyptians with gold rings in there ears, redheaded Germans, olive-skinned Greeks and Cilicians, great muscled Nubians as black as charcoal and with eyes bloodshot by wine--men from every country of the empire, all of them desperate enough, or ambitious enough, or stupid enough, to be willing to trade twenty-five years of their lives at the oars in return for Roman citizenship.

John "Fraud" Kerry
I know everyone is all over this "medal" fiasco, but...
In 1971 Kerry said he threw them away.
Last Friday, he said he didn't.
Charlie Gibson was at the protest in 1971 and saw him throw them away.
Kerry said Charlie was wrong.
Karen Hughes heard Kerry say he just pretended to throw them away.
Commenting on the medal controversy, Kerry said Monday: "This comes from a president and a Republican Party that can't even answer whether he showed up for duty in the National Guard." He continued, "This is being pushed yesterday by Karen Hughes (search) at the White House, on Fox."
Johnny Traitor...changing the subject won't work.
On Sunday, Hughes, a Bush adviser, said on CNN's Late Edition, "I also was very troubled by the fact that he participated in the ceremony where veterans threw their medals away, and he only pretended to throw his ... I think that's very revealing.
So do I. Flip Flop Flip Flop.
"Did he think he did commit them or not? And who else did? And what was he really saying? Was he totally exaggerating? Was he making it up? I think the press ought to follow some line of inquiry about that."
He misspoke...The Democrat term for "bold faced lie".
"I gave back, I can't remember, six, seven, eight, nine medals," Kerry said in an interview on a Washington, D.C., news program on WRC-TV called Viewpoints on Nov. 6, 1971, according to a tape obtained by ABCNEWS.
Can't remember? You think he was smoking too much dope?
Throughout his presidential campaign, Kerry has denied that he threw away any of his medals during an anti-war protest in April 1971. Fox: But according to news reports issued Monday, Kerry told a Washington, D.C., television station on Nov. 6, 1971, that he "gave back, I can't remember, six, seven, eight, nine medals."
When the interviewer at the time pointed out that Kerry had a Bronze Star and a Silver Star as well as three Purple Hearts, Kerry said, "Above that, I gave my others."
Bottom Line: JOHN KERRY is a LIAR, a FRAUD, and a HYPOCRITE!
ARGHH!!!

Bad Move = No Move = Same Thing
I think this is a mistake.
Patrolling the neighborhood will not solve the problem. The IslamoFascists know this, and will no doubt use our reluctance to act - to their advantage.
I'm afraid they've won another round. My confidence in Bush is waning.
To win, we must destroy them. We can easily do it, but apparently we will not, because of the forthcoming election, and public opinion. Too much blood will elevate Kerry in the polls. Why is that?
I cannot believe that Bush and Kerry are so close. How did this happen?
Does anyone believe there will be a major terror attack in the United States before the November election? And if so, will that throw the election, in the IslamoFascists favor, to John Kerry?
…and what happens if Kerry is elected?
All comments are welcome.

Google Flirts; Investors Wonder About Date
By JOHN MARKOFF
AN FRANCISCO, April 23 - Google, the Web search company that has developed a huge following around the world, is expected to take a tentative first step next week toward a public stock offering, a person close to the company said Friday. But it is likely to stop short of filing a formal registration to sell shares, the person said.
In recent days speculation on Wall Street and Silicon Valley has reached a fever pitch over Google's long-awaited offering, which has become the most highly anticipated event in the technology world here since the dot-com boom collapsed in early 2000.
But Google, which prides itself on its quirky and secretive corporate culture, appears prepared to drag out any public offering as long as possible. Google is being driven to disclose basic financial details of its operations next week by an obscure provision of securities law.
The company's executives have consistently refused public comment on Google's plans for a public offering and they maintained that stance on Friday. But the interest in the company has grown so intense in recent days that some of them have found themselves badgered in front of the company's headquarters by television crews eager for comment on an offering that could easily raise $2 billion or more and give Google a market value of as much as $20 billion to $25 billion.
Such an offering, when it comes, would make billionaires of the young computer science experts, Sergey Brin and Larry Page, who founded the company only five years ago while still graduate students at Stanford University.
In contrast to most of the Silicon Valley companies of the 1990's dot-com era, Google is believed to be highly profitable and to be growing rapidly.
Already, only five years after getting off the ground, Google is generating almost $1 billion in revenue annually, according to executives who have been given information about the company's finances, and may have profits of more than $300 million. That gusher of cash has permitted Google to build a network of more than 100,000 computers located in data centers around the world.
The company has hired more than 1,000 employees, a number of them highly educated computer and software experts. Among that elite group, it has fostered an atmosphere that encourages innovation and initiative that harkens back to an era where bright young technical wizards came up with clever ideas and almost instantly became millionaires.
At the same time, Google has hired a cadre of workers who sell advertisements and work in an environment that is both a pressure cooker and not as creative as that surrounding its computer scientists, programmers and hardware engineers.
The speculation over Google's plan is escalating now because the company has distributed stock options widely to its employees, making it subject to a regulation that is part of a 1934 securities law that requires public disclosure by private companies once they reach more than 500 shareholders.
At an employee meeting last month, the company's executives stated that Google had embarked on the path toward a public offering. They did not give any information, however, about the possible timing of the effort.
Those close to the company say that Google's top executives are under pressure because of fears that it may damage employee morale if they do not move ahead quickly to give them an opportunity to turn their shares and options into real wealth.
But from inside and outside the company there have also been repeated rumblings that the founders of the company and its outside investors are still debating the value of an immediate public offering.
Google is backed by two of Silicon Valley's premier venture capital firms, Kleiner Perkins, Caufield & Byers and Sequoia Capital; a highly sought after public offering would become an extremely lucrative achievement for both firms.
Google's founders, however, are leery, Silicon Valley insiders say, of giving up control of their company as well as the operational and cultural changes that a public offering might bring about.
The company has considered the possibility of two classes of stock, they say, a route that would permit the founders to retain tight control, but would also reduce the value of a public offering substantially.
"You don't usually see this in the technology sector," said Jocelyn Areal a partner at Testa, Hurwitz & Thibeault, a Boston law firm. "However, anything is possible at this company. If you're pushing the envelope, anything is possible in terms of how they structure or price the deal."
In Silicon Valley computer scientists are often viewed as people who see the world's problems as solvable through a set of algorithms or equations, and this is particularly true of the Google culture, according to people both inside and outside of the company.
This has led to differences between the company's venture backers and founders, said a person at one of the venture firms that backs Google.
"I wouldn't call it tensions, but there are differences," he said. "I think our attitude is, 'let's not be too cute.' '' The growing pressure on Google to file to sell shares to the public also comes at a time that it is facing growing competition. Its former business partner and investor, Yahoo, has recently gone into direct competition with Google. Meanwhile, Microsoft, the world's largest and most powerful software concern, is expected to attempt to offer a service that competes more directly with Google later this year.
The renewed interest in finding new and financially rewarding ways to offer Web search engines comes years after most Internet companies bet against search as a business, believing that it would become a cheap and easily available commodity. Google outflanked all of the Web portals and Internet providers, however, by gaining loyalty from Web surfers who found it a very fast and impartial pointer to any information to be found on the Internet.
Google, which quickly generated revenue by selling targeted ad space alongside individual search results, has begun to extend its strategy. Most recently, it introduced an experimental online electronic mail service, Gmail, which distinguishes itself by offering users the ability to quickly find their messages, which are stored on Google's servers.
The service, which is now being tested by a limited number of users, has drawn opposition from a number of privacy activists, because the Google system involves searching through e-mail to target ads to users. « Close It

Liberals claim President Bush shouldn't have started this war. They complain about his prosecution of it. One liberal recently claimed Bush was the worst president in U.S. history. Let's clear up one point: We didn't start the war on terror. Try to remember, it was started by terrorists BEFORE 9/11.
Let's look at the "worst" president and mismanagement claims.
FDR led us into World War II. Germany never attacked us: Japan did.
From 1941-1945, 450,000 lives were lost, an average of 112,500 per year. Truman finished that war and started one in Korea, North Korea never attacked us. From 1950-1953, 55,000 lives were lost, an average of 18,333 per year.
John F. Kennedy started the Vietnam conflict in 1962. Vietnam never attacked us. Johnson turned Vietnam into a quagmire. From 1965-1975, 58,000 lives were lost, an average of 5,800 per year.
Clinton went to war in Bosnia without UN or French consent, Bosnia never attacked us He was offered Osama bin Laden's head on a platter three times by Sudan and did nothing. Osama has attacked us on multiple occasions.
In the two years since terrorists attacked us, President Bush has liberated two countries, crushed the Taliban, crippled al-Qaida, put nuclear inspectors in Lybia, Iran and North Korea without firing a shot, and captured a terrorist who slaughtered 300,000 of his own people. We lost 600 soldiers, an average of 300 a year. Bush did all this abroad while not allowing another terrorist attack at home. Worst president in history? Come on!
The Democrats are complaining about how long the war is taking, but...
**It took less time to take Iraq than it took Janet Reno to take the Branch Davidian compound. That was a 51day operation.
**We've been looking for evidence of chemical weapons in Iraq for less time than it took Hillary Clinton to find the Rose Law Firm billing records
**It took less time for the 3rd Infantry Division and the Marines to destroy the Medina Republican Guard than it took Teddy Kennedy to call the police after his Oldsmobile sank at Chappaquiddick.
**It took less time to take Iraq than it took to count the votes in Florida!!!!

Would You Take That Bet?
Here's an excerpt from a great post at HumanRaceWatch.com
...It’s becoming more of a reality to the intelligent people who try and stay informed that John Kerry is all over the place with the key issue’s of today’s world. While the economy getting back on track, and it is to those who are in denial. The majority of people in this country want to feel safe and free from terrorism. This country needs strong leadership for that very reasaon. With that being said, I’m willing to bet everything I own that there’s going to be a major terrorist attack on this country before the election. Spain has opened a Pandora’s Box on that subject...

How Can We Win ?
A decision must be made.
The only way to win a war is to destroy the enemy.
What do you do when the enemy hides amongst women and children?
How do you fight an enemy when the enemy knows you won’t do what is necessary to win?
I’m not advocating the killing of innocents, but I’d like to hear your thoughts.

Lie Of The Day
From Laura Ingraham
“The president not only misleads America about my record, he misleads his own Administration, he misleads his security adviser, he misleads his own secretary of state, about his own planning for a war,” charged Sen. John Kerry, on Meet the Press.
THE TRUTH

President Bush understood that after 9/11, we could no longer afford to be reactive to terrorism and the threats that WMD posed to us and our interests abroad. After al Qaeda, Saddam Hussein was one of the major menaces we faced. Since he believed this, the President was smart to see that our war planning was underway. (The illogical position back in early 2002 would have been to trust Saddam after years of his deceiving the 'international community.' Kerry might think this is the wrong strategy, but it's not a war based on Pres. Bush's deception.

Sunday Night (04/18/04 - 11:18 pm), I watched on television from my home in North Carolina the Soyuz Spaceship launch from Kazakhstan's Baikonur Cosmodrome.
Several minutes later, I went into my backyard and saw an object as bright as a star moving from north to south. It went from horizon to horizon in less than a minute.
I hope it was Soyuz, because if not, I saw a UFO.

Seven Long Rows, And Then Some
Well…it’s been a beautiful weekend here in North Carolina… the Azalea’s and Dogwood’s are blooming…the birds are singing…my new dog is 15 days old…life is good.
I planted my garden, eighty plants in seven rows, but the rows are crooked. That’s what happens when you do a beer a row. That’s all right though…the plants don’t know.
Soon, I’ll be up to my elbows in:
Habanero Peppers
Jalapeno Peppers
Cayenne Peppers
Red Chili Peppers
Anaheim Peppers
Hot Banana Peppers
Sweet Banana Peppers
Thai Chili Peppers
Mystery Red Peppers
I usually set out more of a variety, but these are all I could find this year.
I hope I’ll have a boatload of:
Roma Tomatoes
German Johnson Tomatoes
Brandywine Tomatoes
Not to mention:
Kentucky Pole Beans.
And all the herbs and flowers you can imagine.
I also managed to wash my car, and my wife’s truck.
Now, I’m going to pour myself a stiff drink of the Cruzan Confusion, and take a long hot ass bubble bath using some of my wife’s fooie stuff. I’ll smell like an over made-up French tart, but that’s OK, I’ll be clean.
Sometimes you just gotta do, what you gotta do.

Doors to Hell
"It was Bush."
"Bush has Rantissi's blood on his hands,"
"All doors to hell should be opened against the Israelis and against the Americans,"
"Bush freed the hands of Sharon to do whatever he liked with the Palestinian people, to kill their leaders and to confiscate their land,"
"Sharon and Bush will see more blood coming from their noses in Palestine and Iraq,"
"The United States bears the responsibility for what happens, since after every visit by Sharon to Washington he commits more terrorism and assassinations."
Do you believe these people? Crazy!!

Abdel Aziz Rantisi is History
That didn't take long. The Israelis said he was a target. I wonder where Arafat is? Hiding in a converted septic tank like Saddam, I suspect.
I agree with Israel...kill the leaders...all of 'em.
Source DEBKA:
Israel goes on heightened alert after death of Abdel Aziz Rantisi.
Rantisi, 57, dies when missiles from Israeli helicopter blew up his car in Gaza City Saturday. One of his sons and two bodyguards also killed. Strike shortly after another Hamas-Fatah suicide bombing at Erez killed Israeli border guard. Rantisi’s was most uncompromising voice in extremist Islamic Palestinian group, urged total destruction of Jewish state. Hamas leaders including Rantisi in hiding since Israeli hit killed Sheikh Yassin three weeks ago.

Catsup, Pickles, and the Radical Left
I get a lot of e-mail from a lot of people. Some of it is worth passing on, and some of it isn't.
This one is.

by Paul R. Hollrah
Maria Teresa Thiersten Simoes-Ferreira Heinz Kerry was born in Mozambique, the daughter of a Portuguese physician, and was educated in Switzerland and South Africa. Fluent in five languages, she was working as a United Nations interpreter in Geneva in the mid-60's when she met a handsome young American, H. John Heinz, III, who worked at a bank in Geneva. He told her his family was in the food business.
They were married in 1966 and returned to Pittsburgh where his family ran the giant H.J. Heinz food company. He was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1971, and in 1976 he was elected to the first of three terms in the United States Senate.
Senator H. John Heinz was a friend of mine, not a close friend, not a golfing buddy, but a friend nonetheless. The last time I saw him alive was, oddly enough, in the men's restroom at the Maverick Steakhouse, a favorite nighttime eatery and watering hole for politicians and lobbyists in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
The senator was standing at a wash basin, drying his hands, when I entered the room. When he turned and saw me he rushed toward me, threw his arms around me, and said, Paul, it's good to see you! All I could do was mumble, Senator, do you really think we should be seen hugging each other in a men's restroom? He didn't think so, and neither did I, but we shared a good laugh over his impromptu display of affection.
Several years later, in 1991, he was killed when his plane collided with a Sun Oil Company helicopter over a Philadelphia suburb the same helicopter that I often used to travel between Philadelphia and Washington, DC. The senator, his pilot and copilot, and both of Sun's helicopter pilots were killed. He was survived by his wife, Teresa, and their three young sons.
Four years later, after inheriting Heinz's $500 million fortune, she married Senator John Forbes Kerry, the liberal junior senator from Massachusetts. She became a registered Democrat and the process of her radicalization was set in motion.
Heinz Kerry is not shy about telling people that she required Kerry to sign a prenuptial agreement before they were married. John Kerry may not have checkwriting privileges on the Heinz catsup and pickle fortune, but he is certainly a willing and uncomplaining beneficiary of it. A lot of hard-earned money, made through many years of hawking catsup, pickles, and soup, has fallen into the hands of two people who despise successful entrepreneurship and who believe in the confiscatory redistribution of wealth.
So how does Mrs. Heinz Kerry spend John Heinz's money? Just one example:
According to the G2 Bulletin, an online intelligence newsletter of WorldNetDaily, in the years between 1995-2001 she gave more than $4 million to an organization called the Tides Foundation. And what does the Tides Foundation do with John Heinz's money?
They support numerous antiwar groups, including Ramsey Clark's International Action Center. Clark has offered to defend Saddam Hussein when he's tried.
They support the Democratic Justice Fund, a joint venture of the Tides Foundation and billionaire hate-monger George Soros. The Democratic Justice Fund seeks to ease restrictions on Muslim immigration from terrorist states.
They support the Council for American-Islamic Relations, whose leaders are known to have close ties to the terrorist group, Hamas.
They support the National Lawyers Guild, organized as a communist front during the Cold War era. One of their attorneys, Lynne Stewart, has been arrested for helping a client, Sheikh Omar Abdel Rahman, communicate with terror cells in Egypt. He is the convicted mastermind of the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.
They support Planned Parenthood, the National Abortion Rights Action League, and the Abortion Action Project.
They support the most violent of all homosexual action groups, ACT-UP.
They support the Barrio Warriors, a radical Hispanic group whose primary goal is to return all of Arizona, California, New Mexico, and Texas to Mexico.
These are but a few of the radical groups that benefit, through the anonymity provided by the Tides Foundation, from the generosity of our would-be first lady the wealthy widow of Republican senator John Heinz, and now the wife of the Democratic senator who aspires to be the 44th President of the United States.
If voters will only try to imagine a woman such as Teresa Heinz Kerry, the fairy godmother of the radical left, laying her head on a pillow each night just inches from the President of the United States, hopefully they will decide that the only way these two will ever be allowed into the White House is with an engraved invitation in hand.
As I recall that somewhat embarrassing chance meeting in the men's restroom at the Maverick Steakhouse in Harrisburg, instead of mumbling some inane nonsense about getting caught in a friendly embrace, I wish now that I'd had the good sense to whisper in his ear, John! Go home! Get a lawyer! Change your will!

Straw Dogs / Ghost Man Talking
The following is a translation of the audio tape attributed to Osama Bin Laden which was aired this morning on two Arabic language television channels, Al Arabeya and Al Jazeera. Translation courtesy the BBC.
"Peace be upon those who follow guidance."
Well...you know what I say?...He is dead!!!!

Praise be to Almighty God; Peace and prayers be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and companions.
This is a message to our neighbours north of the Mediterranean, containing a reconciliation initiative as a response to their positive reactions.
Praise be to God; praise be to God; praise be to God who created heaven and earth with justice and who allowed the oppressed to punish the oppressor in the same way.
Peace upon those who followed the right path:
In my hands there is a message to remind you that justice is a duty towards those whom you love and those whom you do not. And people's rights will not be harmed if the opponent speaks out about them.
The greatest rule of safety is justice, and stopping injustice and aggression. It was said: Oppression kills the oppressors and the hotbed of injustice is evil. The situation in occupied Palestine is an example. What happened on 11 September [2001] and 11 March [the Madrid train bombings] is your commodity that was returned to you.
It is known that security is a pressing necessity for all mankind. We do not agree that you should monopolise it only for yourselves. Also, vigilant people do not allow their politicians to tamper with their security.
Having said this, we would like to inform you that labelling us and our acts as terrorism is also a description of you and of your acts. Reaction comes at the same level as the original action. Our acts are reaction to your own acts, which are represented by the destruction and killing of our kinfolk in Afghanistan, Iraq and Palestine.
The act that horrified the world; that is, the killing of the old, handicapped [Hamas spiritual leader] Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, may God have mercy on him, is sufficient evidence.
We pledge to God that we will punish America for him, God willing.
Which religion considers your killed ones innocent and our killed ones worthless? And which principle considers your blood real blood and our blood water? Reciprocal treatment is fair and the one who starts injustice bears greater blame.
As for your politicians and those who have followed their path, who insist on ignoring the real problem of occupying the entirety of Palestine and exaggerate lies and falsification regarding our right in defense and resistance, they do not respect themselves.
They also disdain the blood and minds of peoples. This is because their falsification increases the shedding of your blood instead of sparing it.
Moreover, the examining of the developments that have been taking place, in terms of killings in our countries and your countries, will make clear an important fact; namely, that injustice is inflicted on us and on you by your politicians, who send your sons - although you are opposed to this - to our countries to kill and be killed.
Therefore, it is in both sides' interest to curb the plans of those who shed the blood of peoples for their narrow personal interest and subservience to the White House gang.
The Zionist lobby is one of the most dangerous and most difficult figures of this group. God willing, we are determined to fight them.
We must take into consideration that this war brings billions of dollars in profit to the major companies, whether it be those that produce weapons or those that contribute to reconstruction, such as the Halliburton Company, its sisters and daughters.
Based on this, it is very clear who is the one benefiting from igniting this war and from the shedding of blood. It is the warlords, the bloodsuckers, who are steering the world policy from behind a curtain.
As for President Bush, the leaders who are revolving in his orbit, the leading media companies and the United Nations, which makes laws for relations between the masters of veto and the slaves of the General Assembly, these are only some of the tools used to deceive and exploit peoples.
All these pose a fatal threat to the whole world.
The Zionist lobby is one of the most dangerous and most difficult figures of this group. God willing, we are determined to fight them.
Based on the above, and in order to deny war merchants a chance and in response to the positive interaction shown by recent events and opinion polls, which indicate that most European peoples want peace, I ask honest people, especially ulema, preachers and merchants, to form a permanent committee to enlighten European peoples of the justice of our causes, above all Palestine. They can make use of the huge potential of the media.
The door of reconciliation is open for three months of the date of announcing this statement.
I also offer a reconciliation initiative to them, whose essence is our commitment to stopping operations against every country that commits itself to not attacking Muslims or interfering in their affairs - including the US conspiracy on the greater Muslim world.
This reconciliation can be renewed once the period signed by the first government expires and a second government is formed with the consent of both parties.
The reconciliation will start with the departure of its last soldier from our country.
The door of reconciliation is open for three months of the date of announcing this statement.
For those who reject reconciliation and want war, we are ready.
As for those who want reconciliation, we have given them a chance. Stop shedding our blood so as to preserve your blood. It is in your hands to apply this easy, yet difficult, formula. You know that the situation will expand and increase if you delay things.
If this happens, do not blame us - blame yourselves.
A rational person does not relinquish his security, money and children to please the liar of the White House.
Had he been truthful about his claim for peace, he would not describe the person who ripped open pregnant women in Sabra and Shatila [reference to Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon] and the destroyer of the capitulation process [reference to the Palestinian-Israeli peace process] as a man of peace.
Reality proves our truthfulness and his [George Bush's] lie.
He also would not have lied to people and said that we hate freedom and kill for the sake of killing. Reality proves our truthfulness and his lie.
The killing of the Russians was after their invasion of Afghanistan and Chechnya; the killing of Europeans was after their invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan; and the killing of Americans on the day of New York [reference to 11 September] was after their support of the Jews in Palestine and their invasion of the Arabian Peninsula.
Also, killing them in Somalia was after their invasion of it in Operation Restore Hope. We made them leave without hope, praise be to God.
It is said that prevention is better than cure. A happy person is he who learns a lesson from the experience of others.
Heeding right is better than persisting in falsehood.
Peace be upon those who follow guidance. « Close It

Thank You For Choosing United, Mr. Bin Laden
April 14, 2004
Last week, 9/11 commissioner John Lehman revealed that "it was the policy (before 9/11) and I believe remains the policy today to fine airlines if they have more than two young Arab males in secondary questioning because that's discriminatory." Hmmm ... Is 19 more than two? Why, yes, I believe it is. So if two Jordanian cab drivers are searched before boarding a flight out of Newark, Osama bin Laden could then board that plane without being questioned. I'm no security expert, but I'm pretty sure this gives terrorists an opening for an attack.
In a sane world, Lehman's statement would have made headlines across the country the next day. But not one newspaper, magazine or TV show has mentioned that it is official government policy to prohibit searching more than two Arabs per flight.
Meanwhile, another 9/11 commissioner, the greasy Richard Ben-Veniste, claimed to be outraged that the CIA did not immediately give intelligence on 9/11 hijackers Nawaf Alhazmi and Khalid Almihdhar to the FBI. As we now know -- or rather, I alone know because I'm the only person in America watching the 9/11 hearings -- Ben-Veniste should have asked his fellow commissioner Jamie Gorelick about that.
In his testimony this week, John Ashcroft explained that the FBI wasn't even told Almihdhar and Alhazmi were in the country until weeks before the 9/11 attack -- because of Justice Department guidelines put into place in 1995. The FBI wasn't allowed to put al-Qaida specialists on the hunt for Almihdhar and Alhazmi –- because of Justice Department guidelines put into place in 1995. Indeed, the FBI couldn't get a warrant to search Zacarias Moussaoui's computer -- because of Justice Department guidelines put into place in 1995.
The famed 1995 guidelines were set forth in a classified memorandum written by the then-deputy attorney general titled "Instructions for Separation of Certain Foreign Counterintelligence and Criminal Investigations," which imposed a "draconian" wall between counterintelligence and criminal investigations.
What Ashcroft said next was breathtaking. Prohibited from mounting a serious search for Almihdhar and Alhazmi, an irritated FBI investigator wrote to FBI headquarters, warning that someone would die because of these policies -- "since the biggest threat to us, OBL (Osama bin Laden), is getting the most protection."
FBI headquarters responded: "We're all frustrated with this issue. These are the rules. NSLU (National Security Law Unit) does not make them up. But somebody did make these rules. Somebody built this wall."
The person who built that wall described in the infamous 1995 memo, Ashcroft said, "is a member of the commission." If this were an episode of "Matlock," the camera would slowly pan away from Ashcroft's face at this point and then quickly jump to an extreme close-up of Jamie Gorelick's horrified expression. Armed marshals would then escort the kicking, screaming Gorelick away in leg irons as the closing credits rolled. Gorelick was the deputy attorney general in 1995.
The 9/11 commission has finally uncovered the proverbial "smoking gun"! But it was fired by one of the 9/11 commissioners. Maybe between happy reminiscences about the good old days of Ruby Ridge, Waco and the Elian Gonzales raid, Ben-Veniste could ask Gorelick about those guidelines. Democrats think it's a conflict of interest for Justice Scalia to have his name in the same phonebook as Dick Cheney. But there is no conflict of interest having Gorelick sit on a commission that should be investigating her.
Bill O'Reilly's entire summary of Ashcroft's testimony was to accuse Ashcroft of throwing sheets over naked statues rather than fighting terrorism. No mention of the damning Gorelick memo. No one knows about the FAA's No-Searching-Arabs counterterrorism policy. Predictions that conservatives have finally broken through the wall of sound coming from the mainstream media may have been premature.
When Democrats make an accusation against Republicans, newspaper headlines repeat the accusation as a fact: "U.S. Law Chief 'Failed to Heed Terror Warnings,'" "Bush Was Told of Qaida Steps Pre-9/
11; Secret Memo Released," "Bush White House Said to Have Failed to Make al-Qaida an Early Priority."
But when Republicans make accusations against Democrats -- even accusations backed up by the hard fact of a declassified Jamie Gorelick memo -- the headlines note only that Republicans are making accusations: "Ashcroft Lays Blame at Clinton's Feet," "Ashcroft: Blame Bubba for 9/11," "Ashcroft Faults Clinton in 9/11 Failures."
It's amazing how consistent it is. A classic of the genre was the Chicago Tribune headline, which managed to use both constructs in a single headline: "Ashcroft Ignored Terrorism, Panel Told; Attorney General Denies Charges, Blames Clinton." Why not: "Reno Ignored Terrorism, Panel Told; Former Deputy Attorney General Denies Charges, Blames Bush"?
Democrats actively created policies that were designed to hamstring terrorism investigations. The only rap against the Bush administration is that it failed to unravel the entire 9/11 terrorism plot based on a memo titled: "Bin Laden Determined to Attack Inside the United States."
I have news for liberals: Bin Laden is still determined to attack inside the United States! Could they please tell us when and where the next attack will be? Because unless we know that, it's going to be difficult to stop it if we can't search Arabs.

Purple Hearts: Three and Out
Posted April 12, 2004
By Stephen Crump
Kerry glows with pride while wearing one of the Purple Hearts he desperately sought.
Democratic presidential nominee in waiting Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) requently speaks of courage, brotherhood and responsibility when he mentions his brief service in Vietnam. He took Super-8 home movies there in which he staged heroics in full-battle dress, so that later he might use them for campaign ads. Kerry has made so much of his Vietnam medals which he once pretended to throw away that critics have begun to wonder why he has been so cagey about the dubious circumstances surrounding the Purple Hearts that got him out of Vietnam after only four months of combat service. Under the rules, a serviceman had to be awarded three Purple Hearts to apply to go home. Not one or two, but three. And, say critics, there's the rub.
Kerry, who piloted Patrol Crafts Fast (PCFs) as a young Lt.(jg) in the Vietnam War, has always made much of those Purple Hearts. An award often pinned on the pillow of a combat warrior so badly wounded that he cannot sit up to receive it, the Purple Heart recognizes the sacrifices of combat when a soldier or officer has sustained a wound "from an outside force or agent" and received treatment from a medical officer. The records for such treatment "must have been made a matter of official record," according to the military definition of the award.
According to Kerry's own description in Douglas Brinkley's Tour of Duty, the Dec. 2, 1968, mission behind what he has claimed to be his first Purple Heart was "a half-assed action that hardly qualified as combat. "Indeed. Kerry was stationed with Coastal Division 14 at Cam Ranh Bay. At that time he piloted a small foam-filled boat, known as a Boston Whaler, with two enlisted men in the darkness of early morning. The intent, apparently, was to patrol an area that was known for contraband trafficking, but it was an undocumented mission. Upon approaching the objective point, the crew noticed a sampan crossing the river. As it pulled to shore, Kerry and his little team opened fire, destroying the
boat and whatever its cargo might have been.
In the confusion, Kerry claims to have received a "stinging piece of heat" in the arm, the result of a tiny piece of shrapnel. He was not incapacitated and continued with regular swiftboat-patrol duty. William Shachte, who oversaw this ad hoc mission, was quoted by the Boston Globe as saying Kerry's injury, from whatever source, "was not a serious wound at all."
But Kerry met with his immediate superior officer, Lt.Cmdr. Grant Hibbard, the next morning and requested a Purple Heart for his wound. Hibbard recalls that Kerry had a "minor scratch" on his arm and was holding in his hand what ppeared to be a fragment of a U.S. M-79 grenade, the shrapnel that had caused the wound. "They didn't receive enemy fire," Hibbard tells Insight. Since this was an essential requirement for the award, the commander rejected Kerry's request. Hibbard does not remember that Kerry received medical attention of any kind and confirms that no one else on the mission suffered any injuries.
Shortly thereafter, Kerry was transferred to Coastal Division 11 at An Thoi. Apparently, Kerry petitioned to have his Purple Heart request reconsidered. Hibbard remembers getting correspondence from Kerry's new division, asking for his approval. In the hurried process of moving to a new command himself, Hibbard thinks he might have signed off on the award. If so, "it was to my chagrin," Hibbard remembers. Kerry's second commander, Lt.Cmdr. G.M. Elliott, says he has no recollection of such an event ever occurring.
There are no written records of Kerry's magical first Purple Heart on file at the Naval Historical Center in Washington, the nation's primary repository for such documentation. A Purple Heart normally is not requested but is awarded de facto for a wound inflicted by the enemy - a wound serious enough to require medical attention. The Naval Historical Center keeps all documents connected to such awards to U.S. Navy and Marine personnel. These typewritten "casualty cards" list the date, location and prognosis of the wound for which the Purple Heart is given, and they are produced by the medical facility that provides treatment for the combat wound at the hands of the enemy. There are two such cards for Kerry - for his slight wounds on Feb. 20 and March 13, 1969, but
none for his December 1968 claim.
After receiving a Purple Heart for the March 13 scratch and bruise, Kerry sought an early pass out of combat duty, invoking the informal Navy "instruction" known as 1300.39. According to the Boston Globe, 1300.39 meant an officer could request a reassignment from his superior officer after receiving three Purple Hearts. The instruction states that, rather than being automatic, the reassignment would "be determined after consideration of his physical classification for duty and on an individual basis." Of the 138 servicemen and officers in Kerry's unit who received Purple Hearts during the time he was there, records indicate only two received more than two. These were Lt.(jg) Jim Galvin and a boatswain's mate named Stevens. When Insight reached Galvin he
said all three of his Purple Hearts were the result of shrapnel or glass shards. Such minor injuries were common on PCF boats with their glass windows and thin metal hulls, and, like Kerry's, Galvin's injuries were not serious enough to take him out of combat for more than a few days. Unlike Kerry, Galvin elected to stay with his men. Indeed, though a professional Navy officer, he never had heard of instruction 1300.39. It was not until early April of 1969, when Galvin noticed that Kerry was preparing to leave the officers' barracks at An Thoi that he learned about "three Purple Hearts and you're out." According to Galvin, it was Kerry who told him, "There's a rule that gets you out of here and I'm
getting out. You ought to do the same." Galvin remembers, "He seemed to take care of everything pretty quickly," because that was the last time Galvin saw Kerry in Vietnam. The three-times wounded Galvin stayed with his men, transferred to Cam Ranh Bay to get them a respite from the dicey Mekong Delta, and eventually left the swiftboats for destroyer school.
Insight: contacted many men who served in Coastal Division at the same
time Kerry did to ask if any of them had heard of anyone leaving the combat zone by invoking three minor wounds. Of the 12 who replied, none had heard of anyone doing so but John Kerry." Less than a month after having claimed three wounds for which he lost no more than a total of two days of duty, Kerry reported as an aide to a navy yard admiral in Brooklyn, New York, leaving his crew in Vietnam. Two years later, preparing for a congressional race in a left-wing Massachusetts district - where the seat eventually was won by the even
more radical Rev. Robert Drinan - Kerry was working with Maoists and other radicals in Vietnam Veterans Against the War, saying of those he left behind who were being killed and wounded for real that they were committing crimes "on a day-to-day basis with the full awareness of officers at all levels."
Indeed, Kerry said, he knew men who in Vietnam "had personally raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, razed villages in fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan, shot cattle and dogs for fun, poisoned food stocks and generally ravaged the countryside." Addressing the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on April 22, 1971, about these and other alleged war crimes, he called on the United States to pay "extensive reparations."Stephen Crump is an associate reporter for Insight magazine.

Spin This
I was watching O’Reilly last night before President Bush, and I have a few observations about both. These are not exact quotes; I’m working from memory, but I think I’m close enough.
O’Reilly said, in reference to 9/11, he’s “appalled at all the innocent people who had to die because of Federal Inefficiency”.
I disagree. It wasn’t the inefficiency of the Federal Government who slaughtered 3000 innocent people; it was IslamoFascist terrorists supported by Islamic Regimes who pretend to be friendly to, and tolerant of, the United States of America.
O’Reilly also used the term “Theocratic Terror”.
I somewhat disagree. Theocratic is of, relating to, or being a Theocracy. Theocracy is the government of a state by immediate divine guidance or by officials who are regarded as divinely guided or a state governed by a theocracy. If this is true, then we need to retaliate against Saudi Arabia for obvious reasons. For all intents and purposes, the 9/11 hijackers were from Saudi Arabia. The fact is, in my opinion, these followers of radical Islam recognize no state / nation borders. They’re running around like a bunch of rabid animals, and are being protected by Islamic Regimes regardless of their nation states. So, it is Fanatical, Radical, Fundamental Islamic Terror, and not Theocratic Terror. Islam is not a state.
Bush said, “I will not allow our young ones to die in vain, and that is not going to happen on my watch.” “If we leave, that’s what will happen.”
I agree, he’s right. We must stay the course and see it through. Remember, we didn’t start this war, but we’ve got to finish it. Whatever it takes. I mean WHATEVER.
Bush also said, the IslamoFascists have “no guilt in killing innocent people, and we cannot let this continue…this war will go on for a long time.”
He’s right again, this war will go on for a long time, and we must be committed for the duration. If we do not prevail, there will be no future. Period.
Finally, Bush said, “When I say something…I mean it.
No Flip Flopping like that asshole Kerry…know what I mean.
I’m just saying…

How People Change
There was a time when I admired Andy Rooney. Not any more. He is living in the past, and is too old and set in his ways to understand the reality of the present...things have changed, period.
Read five loaded questions and his senile commentary below.
Andy - you need a nap.

Jim didn't hold back like me. A much better job. GO READ THIS.

Most of the reporting from Iraq is about death and destruction. We don't learn much about what our soldiers in Iraq are thinking or doing. There's no Ernie Pyle to tell us, and, if there were, the military would make it difficult or impossible for him to let us know.
It would be interesting to have a reporter ask a group of our soldiers in Iraq to answer five questions and see the results:
1. Do you think your country did the right thing sending you into Iraq?
2. Are you doing what America set out to do to make Iraq a democracy, or have we failed so badly that we should pack up and get out before more of you are killed?
3. Do the orders you get handed down from one headquarters to another, all far removed from the fighting, seem sensible, or do you think our highest command is out of touch with the reality of your situation?
4. If you could have a medal or a trip home, which would you take?
5. Are you encouraged by all the talk back home about how brave you are and how everyone supports you?
Treating soldiers fighting their war as brave heroes is an old civilian trick designed to keep the soldiers at it. But you can be sure our soldiers in Iraq are not all brave heroes gladly risking their lives for us sitting comfortably back here at home.
Our soldiers in Iraq are people, young men and women, and they behave like people - sometimes good and sometimes bad, sometimes brave, sometimes fearful. It's disingenuous of the rest of us to encourage them to fight this war by idolizing them.
We pin medals on their chests to keep them going. We speak of them as if they volunteered to risk their lives to save ours, but there isn't much voluntary about what most of them have done. A relatively small number are professional soldiers. During the last few years, when millions of jobs disappeared, many young people, desperate for some income, enlisted in the Army. About 40 percent of our soldiers in Iraq enlisted in the National Guard or the Army Reserve to pick up some extra money and never thought they'd be called on to fight. They want to come home.
One indication that not all soldiers in Iraq are happy warriors is the report recently released by the Army showing that 23 of them committed suicide there last year. This is a dismaying figure. If 22 young men and one woman killed themselves because they couldn't take it, think how many more are desperately unhappy but unwilling to die.
We must support our soldiers in Iraq because it's our fault they're risking their lives there. However, we should not bestow the mantle of heroism on all of them for simply being where we sent them. Most are victims, not heroes.
America's intentions are honorable. I believe that, and we must find a way of making the rest of the world believe it. We want to do the right thing. We care about the rest of the world. President Bush's intentions were honorable when he took us into Iraq. They were not well thought out but honorable.
Bush's determination to make the evidence fit the action he took, which it does not, has made things look worse. We pay lip service to the virtues of openness and honesty, but for some reason, we too often act as though there was a better way of handling a bad situation than by being absolutely open and honest. « Close It

No Silver Bullet
This is the Memo?
by Raymond Green
12 April 2004
Dr. Condoleezza Rice’s testimony in front of the September 11 Commission dropped a number of bombshells and provided new insights for the public to see how President Bush intended on tackling the issue of terrorism prior to 9/11.
It tells us very little we didn't already know.
Finish it here.

We Must Not Negotiate
I’ve been out of touch for a few days, but I understand the Coward IslamoFascist Scum Bags have taken hostages from several different nations.
Let me say this – WE MUST NOT NEGOTIATE, but we should kill these bastards.
Everyone in Iraq is there on a voluntary basis. DO NOT forget that.
Also remember, if traitor John F-in' Kerry is elected, we are in deep shit…
That post was from my friend KEY.

Skoal Brother
Last weekend, we cooked a 115 lb. pig in honor of my friend’s birthday that ends in zero. The chief pig cooker likes a little pinch between his cheek and gum, and always has a spit bottle nearby.
We were on the porch (2:00 am.) with several gallon jugs, and all the ingredients to build some marinade and hot sauce for the cooking. I must be honest…we’d been drinking. Anyway, we were throwing in a little of this, and a little of that…doing a little quality control, and throwing in a little more of this and that.
To make a long story short…the pig cook leaves to visit the head, and while he was gone the contents of the spit bottle went in the pot...by mistake!
I mean, it was dark, and there were a lot of bottles on the table...looked like a normal beer to the birthday boy.
It was too late in the game to start over, so we didn’t tell anyone until after they’d eaten.
It was the best pig I’ve ever had…but damn…Skoal juice?
