Stretch ran his first rabbit down tonight, and brought it home. Don’t let anyone tell you a Dachshund is a foo foo dog. They might be stubborn, and they are the smallest of hounds, but they are ferocious. He is the Man.

I love dachshunds. They are fearless ass-kickers. I once saw one pester a big-ass German Shepherd, just for the hell of it. After a while, the shepherd had enough and emitted a lion-like growl and put his jaws around the little guy's head. Only then did the dackel stop, but even then, he sort of swaggered away. Cracked me up.
Just make sure to take a trip to the taxidermist. Some people will put the "first dollar" they made in a frame and hang it on the wall. I'm figurin' Stretch might not give a damn about the frame, but now, a trophy is a trophy... ;)
Doxies are NOT little foo-foo dogs. They're fearless, inteeligent and resourcful. My old dachshund caught squirrels and bicyclists.
Those little legs would be a blur. He was amazingly fast. and until we got him fixed, you used to love laying on his back and giving new meaning to the title "weenie dog."
