We've Got To See It Through

Good News

US troops will be boosted significantly in Iraq. We’ve got to do what we have to do, and since we’ve got ‘em on the run, we can’t stop now.

I was having a meaningful discussion argument with a lefter today, and he was all bent out of shape about how the U.S. must leave Iraq ASAP. He pretty much insinuated that if the U.S. didn’t, the end of the world was close. When I reminded him that 90 + % of the troops don’t want to leave, and that they say if we don’t finish what the IslamoFascists started, we’ll be back in ten years; he STFU. No comeback.

For future reference: If you prove to tell a lefter, that 90% of the people they want to make decisions for, disagree with them, they melt.

I love it when that happens.

There's much more to it than simply having to return in ten years -- by abandoning the Iraqi people, we would lose all credibility in the world, and especially with the Iraqi people.

If we pull out and leave them to their fate, there would be no going back because they would not trust us at all.

Also, the same Democrats who currently support pulling out would later claim that pulling out was proof that President Bush was the silly, idiot cowboy they have tried so hard to portray him as in the recent election. A large part of his Presidential legacy will depend on how post-Saddam Iraq is handled.

I find it amazingly depressing that so many people can build their knowledge base around T-shirt and bumper sticker slogans, yet are unable to spend five minutes learning about the socio-political environment of the country they wish to throw to the wolves, or even two minutes considering life under a dictatorship or extreme fundamentalist religious governing body.
