The Brier Patch
This piddley ass blog will be one year old this Sunday, October 17. There are two reasons for putting this up now.
1. I’m heading across the Great Smokey Mountains in the morning for Nashville to attend a wedding. It certainly will be a beautiful drive, and it will definitely be one of those 72-hour (la-de-da) weddings. Dinner and Drinks And Lodging With My Beautiful Wife Somewhere Along The Way, Cocktails, Rehearsal Dinner, Moonshine & Cigars, Sleep Late, Pre-Wedding Jitter Busters, Long Ass Wedding with Communion, Reception with a World Class Band and old friends, No-Telling, Sunday Brunch. Damn, I’m already worn out. Miss Barbie and I are going to have a GOOD time.
2. I’m really going to miss the Blogtoberfest ,and the chance to shoot the shit with these folks:
My Internet Chic from Key Issues
Acidman from Gutrumbles
Adam the Single Southern Guy
Dax Montana from The Dax Files
Denny the Grouchy Old Cripple in Atlanta
Geoffrey & Gordon from Dog Snot Diaries
Jimbo from Parkway Rest Stop
Eric the Straight White Guy
Kelley from Suburban Blight
Momma from Mamamontezz
Velociman O'Velociworld
…and everyone else who goes to Helen, or has stopped by The Brier Patch. I truly appreciate it.
Y’all have a good time!!!
Now, my first post which is now...About Me.
Be back next week.

Congratulations on the One Year Anniversary of The Briar Patch!!
I just saw the wonderful things you sent to Key Monroe for the Blogtoberfesters. Whiskey and cigars! Sam, your shit is definitely together!
Thank you, and the best of luck to you in year two.
Congratulations, Sam! And have a good time and safe trip!

Sam, you are a true gentleman. Thanks for the Blogtoberfest gifts; I truly wish you could be there. Have fun at the wedding, though - and I can promise you that many a glass will be raised in honor of your blogiversary. Salud!
I'd rather you were coming yourself, but these parting gifts are welcome reperations!
I've never drank that "Homemade Wine" in my life. You'll be hearing some stories I'm sure.
Thanks.
This will be my first Blogtoberfest, and as you won't be there, from what I hear, we're all going to be missing out. And thanks for the contributions, I'm sure I will be able to take advanage of some or all of them.

.. Sam, I was planning on bringing some of East Tennessee's finest.. but, you have saved me the trouble... have a good time at the wedding, and thanks for the gifts... you will be remembered fondly in Helen, that's for sure...
.. sorry you can't make it... but, happy blog-birthday, man...
all the best,
Eric
Happy late Blog-a-versary. I can't even tell you when mine was.
Loved the Home Made Wine. And my husband and I split the cigar when I got home. Smooth! Really mild. I really enjoyed it.
Next year? Hope we can both make it there.
