I understand your gut reaction here, but it wasn't that long ago on the North American continent that people were burned at the stake by Christians for being "witches".

Or for a more recent example of savagery in Western culture, look to the South and all the publicly accepted (and government ignored) lynchings of innocent blacks for the crime of being the wrong skin color up until as recently as 30 years ago (or even more recently for isolated incidents).

Or less than 10 years ago to the beating to death of a boy because he was gay.

Or less than 5 years ago to the dragging of a black man behind a pickup truck in Texas.

Fucking savages indeed...

But you must apply that description to the entire human race...

Do not commit the sin of pride in thinking that Islam is responsible for savage behavior and that the Western culture is "above all of that", for there are enough examples worldwide even today to show that it is human nature, not the religion that is used as an excuse, that is ultimately responsible for the savagery.

Well Jack…I’ve been thinking about what you said, and you know what? You are absolutely right.

I stand corrected; it was my gut reaction.

But, the kids who beat to death a boy because he was gay, and those scumbag KKK wannabes who dragged a black man to his death, did not do it in the name of God. Savages nonetheless.

How about the mothers who kill their children because God told them to? Crazy? Yeap…different category, but still savages.

I just have a problem with, in the 21st century, people slaughtering others in the name of their God. I also have a problem with anyone who believes they will be rewarded by their God for doing so, and anyone who teaches this.

After all, our ancestors stole two continents from the natives…and killed millions, but the majority of us have evolved. We were savages. The followers of Radical Islam (Wahabi Sect) still are.
